Game Tester Resume Examples, Template, and Resume Tips
Game Tester Resume Examples, Template, and Resume Tips We could say that ever since the invention of the microchip and later computers, our lives started to change rapidly. As our understanding of technology grew, we learned that we could do amazing things with it.One new achievement after another and here we are today, with the world that is completely connected via the internet network.People from all around the world can meet each other online, find their own companies, transfer money from one place to another in a matter of seconds and even work from home for people who are thousands of miles away. But, not all of it is this strictly business. When it comes to people who wanted to have some fun, they got a gaming scene. It started with simple games, such as pinball and massively evolved into a wide range of different gaming genres that exist today. With that huge expansion and increased gaming popularity, games have become more complex and harder to make. Therefore, there are more and more jobs related to game development. One of those ver y important jobs is the job of a game tester.Developing a game requires time and effort because every game has to go through multiple stages of development. Each stage carries some positives and potential negatives that have to be fixed before the game is fully released.Game testers have a job to find those problems and report it to the development team, so they could fix the game before it is even released. With the increased popularity of the gaming scene, there is also an increased number of people who would want to work in this kind of environment. Therefore, if you are one of those people, you need something to stand out of the crowd, to prove that you are the right choice for the job.And the best way to do that is to have a good game tester resume.People usually write almost generic resumes, all resemble one another and to avoid that, you need to work a bit harder and make some effort when writing your resume.Today, we will help you with that goal. We are going to show you the be st gamer resume samples and walk you through the entire process of making a perfect resume.Weâll cover why the resume is so important, what are the crucial parts of every resume, how to write each individual part and how to distinguish what information you should put in your resume and what information should be excluded.Without any further due, letâs begin by seeing some resume samples.Senior Game Tester Resume Example Right QA/Game Tester Resume Example Right Create your own resumeINCLUDING SOME PERSONAL INFORMATION IN YOUR GAME TESTER RESUME THATâLL MAKE THE DIFFERENCEThe main goal of a good resume is to leave a good first impression of your personality, experience, skills and good overall picture of what kind of person you are.So, before you start writing random things about yourself in a resume, take a deep breath and read what we have to say.You should start by sharing some basic personal information, of course.By that we mean your name, phone number, address, email address and perhaps some of your social media profiles. And photo, donât forget a good-looking photo! Now, letâs talk about what is the best way to share all of these.Full nameOf course, the very first information you should write in your game tester resume is not your gaming nickname, but your full name, without adding any nicknames, like shown in the example down below.Samuel Shelton RightSammyRambo032 WrongThe reason for writing your full name instead of your gam ing nickname is that you want your resume to look professional. No one would want to hire some irresponsible joker who acts like a child, even if we are talking about gaming jobs.Game tester job is very important for developers because it helps them fix issues and release a more enjoyable game. Therefore, they need very responsible people for that position.ProfessionBesides your name, you should write your former title if you have experience in working on jobs like this. That would tell the companyâs officials that you are somewhat experienced in-game testing world, so they will know how to address you, whether to ask you some advanced questions or whether to stick to basics.PhotoNowadays, putting a photo in a resume became something widely accepted. In some countries, it is common, in some, not so much, so it is a matter of preference so to speak.Unless the company you are applying for ask you to include your photo in the application, which usually happens if a job is related to a lo t of contact with people or if it is the case of a job where you have to sell something, so it is important to look good. However, we advise you to always include a photo in your resume, even if it is not needed.Like in this case, for instance. No one will ask you to share your photo if you want to apply to be a game tester. Your looks are generally not important for the job. But, you should do it anyway, since it would make it easier for recruiters to memorize your face and with it perhaps some of your personal information.Just to note, donât put any random photo, for instance from Facebook or Instagram.Make sure to take a photo that looks professional and where you are shown at your best.Phone numberOne of the most important contact information you should put in your resume is your phone number.Along with email communication, recruiters often like to call their applicants personally, to talk to them, ask some direct questions and find out more about you that way. Also, sometimes em ails are not so reliable because messages could get bugged and even not sent in some cases, so it is always a good idea to have alternative choices for contacting the applicants.AddressWhen it comes to the job of a game tester, sharing your address is usually optional, but there is no real harm in doing it to be fair. Sometimes it can actually be helpful. For example, if you need to work in a companyâs HQ and you live a bit farther, the company could offer you paid transportation or even increase your salary, so you could pay for the transportation yourself. Also, sometimes you might get rewarded for the long-term participation in-game testing, so they offer you a completely new rig and send it to your home address.E-Mail AddressAs the most important way of communication between companies and job candidates, an email address is a necessary information to include in your resume, no matter what kind of job you are applying for.Simply because you usually have to apply for a job via ema il in the first case. However, you shouldnât use just any email. For example, using an email with your nickname is deemed very unprofessional in the business world, so make sure to make a new email with your full name, or a bit shorter version, as shown in the table below.samshelton@gmail.com Rightsammyshelly82@hotmail.com WrongApart from that, make sure to use the most known email providers, such as Yahoo, Hotmail, and Gmail, because they are the most reliable.Social media profilesSharing social media profiles in resumes has become a pretty common thing nowadays. However, people forget to make their profiles look a bit better before they do it, so they end up sharing some embarrassing photos and similar stuff. So, before you share anything, make sure to edit your social media profiles to look more professional, because it would leave a better first impression. When it comes to choosing which social media profiles to share, well it depends on you. However, it is recommended to always share your LinkedIn profile, since it helps you connect with more business people, which could potentially be helpful in securing some good jobs. Before you do it, however, donât forget to edit the link, so it would look a bit better than it would be if you just copy-pasted it. Just like in the example.linkedin.com/in/Samuel-Shelton Rightlinkedin.com/in/Samuel-Shelton-5x698147 WrongSHOULD I ADD A SUMMARY SECTION AND WHAT TO WRITE IN IT?Resumes are usually short, not more than 2 pages in length. However, they do contain a lot of information. All that information is somewhat important, but some are more important than others. Therefore, it is a good idea to write a short summary of your resume. In there, you should write something about your previous experience, skills or achievements youâve earned along the way. Letâs take a look at a practical example.SummarySenior game tester with over 7 years of experience in the professional game and development testing for big companies s uch as Electronic Arts and Nexon America Inc. Capable of recognizing and reporting various types of bugs, as well as leading small team of testers, by distributing daily tasks, receiving their feedback and creating reports for companys officials. RightSummarySenior game tester with over 7 years of experience. WrongIt would be best to start with your profession and amount of experience in the related field. Then, explain something about the work you did for your previous employers and add some skills you used to help you perform your daily tasks. As you can see in the example above, a detailed summary can be a very useful source of the information, even before you start reading the rest of the resume. However, donât make it too long, nor too short, like in the example labeled with âWrongâ. You should write just several short sentences.ABCs OF WRITING PREVIOUS GAME TESTER EXPERIENCEHaving extensive experience for game tester job is not really necessary, but it is always welcomed. The way you should write your experience section in your game tester resume is by using the reverse-chronological order. That means you should first write your latest jobs, starting from the present and going back to the past. Apart from that, make sure to add several points about each job, describing what you did on each of them.If you are not sure how to do that, feel free to check this interview of Cosmin Burescu, an experienced game tester from Ubisoft. Right WrongINCLUDING INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION IN A GAME TESTER RESUME THAT WILL GET YOU THE NEXT JOBâDo I need to be educated to become a game tester?âThis is the question that you shouldnât be asking yourself. Education is very important, especially for game testers.Excellent knowledge of computers is needed, as well as an advanced understanding of game mechanics you are tasked with testing. There are other basic requirements to become a game tester. Therefore, it is very important to pursue your education, so you would have something to include in your game tester resume.Writing about your education in your resume is similar to writing the experience section.Start with the most recent education and add a couple of points to explain your school activities. If you had been selected as a class president or if you had a high GPA score, make sure to add that as well, since every major achievement is welcomed. Right WrongWHAT SKILLS DO I NEED FOR GAME TESTER JOBS AND HOW TO PUT THEM IN MY RESUME?There are people who add a lot of skills in their resumes, not even thinking about whether those skills are actually useful for doing the job they want to apply for.As said above, it is not a good idea to overwhelm your resume with unimportant information. For instance, if you are a good cook, there is no reason to put that in your game tester resume.Fine, good job, you are good at cooking, but how would that help you become a better game tester?Exactly, it wouldnât!So, make sure to only include skills that might be relevant for the job position you are applying for, such as your computer skills, whether you are an active gamer or not, etc.Just as shown in the example. Right WrongWHAT ELSE IS IMPORTANT FOR GAME TESTER JOB APPLICATION?Those would be the most important parts of each game tester resume. Now you know how to properly structure your resume. To go even further, letâs discuss some non-structural things that could improve your chances of getting the job in the gaming industry you desire so much.Picking font style. Beside being well-structured, resumes should also look nice. One of the things that could help with that is good-looking font style. When deciding about the font style you want to use for your resume, you should take several things into account.First of all, template and font style should be compatible, meaning that you should try to pick a font style that would go well with the template you made or downloaded from the internet. Some online templates even come with the specific font style.Secondly, both your resume template and font style should fit the job position youâre applying for. Just to make it look nicer and more fitting. I t wouldnât make any sense if you would have templates with hearts and kittens if you are applying to be a game tester.Perfect resume size. You probably know some people who brag about their extensive three to four-pages resumes. And even thinking about that might make you feel impressed, thinking how those people probably have a lot to put in their resumes. However, donât let them fool you. Resumes are not supposed to be too long and exhausting, even if you have over 30 years of experience. The question remains though, what is the perfect resume size?If you think about it, the name itself suggests that it shouldnât be too long. Therefore, the perfect size for your game tester resume is from one to maximum of two pages. That is a sufficient amount of pages to put everything you need to.Remember, the goal is not to overwhelm the recruiters, by stating every job youâve ever had, but to show them that you are capable of doing the job youâre applying for. Because of that, you sh ould only put the most important information about your skills, experience, and education.Using bulleting to emphasize the most important information. Another good way to beautify your resume and make it look more organized is to use bulleting to showcase different things, such as your skills, something about education and experience, etc. This would not only make your resume look pretty, but it is also very practical.Recruiters often have dozens, if not hundreds of applicants to choose from, so they donât like to read long resumes that resemble essays. But, it is not just about keeping it short, it is also about making it readable. And it is much easier to read things when they are well-organized and written in several different points. That way, recruiters will be able to compare what is written there to what they are looking for in an applicant, things that might be important for the job they offer.Using proper file format for your game tester resume. In this fast-changing busin ess environment, you never know when you might get a chance to get a certain job that you may like very much. There are jobs opening up almost constantly, so you should always be ready to apply. Therefore, you will probably need to edit your resume from time to time. Itâs best done in TXT file format since it is very easy to edit it. Therefore, you should always keep a copy of your resume in that format, in order to always keep your resume updated. However, when it comes to applying for a job, it is better to send your resume in PDF format, since it looks more professional and no one can easily manipulate the data there since it is a bit harder to edit texts that are in PDF format.Making or picking a proper template for your game tester resume. It would be the best solution if you built your own resume, without using some custom templates from the internet. Your resume is your business card, the way companies can see you and learn something about you. Therefore, it should be built t o resemble your personality. However, making your own resume template can take some time, and people rarely have enough time to do that, so they rather choose to download pre-made resume templates from the internet. In that case, make sure to select the template that goes well with your personality and the job position you are applying for.If you are unsure how to do this or where to find these custom templates, you could simply use our resume template creator and make your game tester resume in a matter of minutes.Regularly check your emails. Emails are the most important aspect of communication between companies and job candidates. You, as a candidate, usually have to apply via email, and companies usually reply and inform candidates that they are selected to come to an interview by sending them an email message. However, emails can sometimes get a bit buggy. Sometimes you can find very important messages buried in the âSpamâ folder. And sometimes you might not even get a messag e at all. This all means you could miss your chance to get a very good job.To minimize the chance of that happening, you should regularly read your emails and check the âSpamâ folder to see if there are some important messages there. That way, you will always be aware of everything and will not miss that one very important email regarding your invitation to a job interview.Re-read your resume after you finish it. In order to create a perfect resume, everything needs to fit well with each other. Sometimes, during the writing process, we can make some mistakes. Therefore, it would be best to come back to your resume after you are done writing it.So, just imagine that you are a companyâs official tasked with recruiting people and try to read your resume from that point of view. That way you will notice any irregularities, grammar mistakes, and missing information. When you know whatâs wrong, you can easily fix it and make your resume look perfect.Does political opinion matter f or game tester jobs? When it comes to sharing your political opinions in your game tester resume, itâs probably the best idea not to write anything related to politics. Perhaps recruiters have different opinions, which could affect their decision regarding accepting your application or not. Also, you know how gamers are. They usually tend to mock world politics, rather than taking it seriously, so you donât want to put any Trump jokes and memes in your resume because it would make your resume look unprofessional, which could hurt your chances of getting the job in the gaming industry.Fixing grammatically incorrect words and sentences. You know how people say gamers are like junkies, they donât respect anything, especially not grammar rules. Well, itâs a stereotype that is slowly getting abandoned, since it is completely wrong. Yes, some gamers use shorter words, which sometimes hurt grammar rules, but that is not the case with every gamer. So, the first step in proving that ga mers are not scoundrels per se is to distinguish yourself as being a real professional. And when it comes to writing a resume, being professional also includes not having grammar mistakes. Therefore, take your time to check your grammar after you are done writing the resume.Update your resume regularly. Did you learn something new while testing some game in development? Perhaps even while you were writing reports in order to give feedback. Every time we learn something new and important, we evolve, both professionally and personally. If you learn something that could be important for your career, make sure to update your resume with that information. That way, you will always be ready to apply for a job, in case something pops up, without having to worry about editing your resume in the last minute. So, open your TXT file and add everything important you learn.CONCLUSIONThere you go, folks! Now you are completely aware of how you could create your own game tester resume. You know why it is important to have a good resume. You understand how to summarize the content in your resume. You know how to share something about your previous jobs and education and you are aware of the importance of finding key skills that should be included in your game tester resume. Now you are ready to fight the competition and win that game tester job you want so badly. However, if you are still having doubts, feel free to use our resume template creator, to make the best game tester resume in just several minutes. forecasted. Jim Laverty says ââ¬Å"Your supply chain is far and away your most effective customer service tool. It directly dictates the two most vital parts of customer satisfaction: price and deliveryâ⬠(Laverty, 2014, para. 4). Wegmans caters to customers needs by not only providing the goods that they request, but allowing them to return those goods if they are not completely satisfied. Stevenson (2015) discribes Wegmans customer satisfaction policy like this: ââ¬Å"If a customer is dissatisfied with an item, and returns it, or even a portion of the item, the customer is offered a choice of a replacement or a refund. If the item is a Wegmans brand food item, it is then sent to the test kitchen to determine the cause of the problem. Professionals in the HR department are the most involved and as they await the final changes on the regulations by U.S department Laborââ¬â¢s (DOLââ¬â¢s), there is a serious implication that will raise deep concerns for employers in terms of the increase in costs/money they will incur upon the implementation of the FLSA regulations. Upon implementation of the new regulations, it will cost employers approximately $592.7 million according to the estimates of DOL who further stated that every organization that will be affected will require an hour to at least get up in an attempt to speed on the adjustments of the FLS A rules. There is however the brighter side of it where the rule gives the provision for employers to reclassify employees who have been

Is Macbeth a Machiavellian leader free essay sample
Not a Machiavellian Leader Niccolo Machiavelliââ¬â¢s The Prince was written as a guide to success for future and current rulers all over the world. Shakespeareââ¬â¢s Macbeth and Machiavelliââ¬â¢s The Prince both present different viewpoints on how to be a noble ruler. Some people say that Macbeth is a Machiavellian ruler. Others qualify him saying that he holds certain Machiavellian traits but not all. While other people say he isnââ¬â¢t a Machiavellian character at all, nor does he possess any qualities of a genuine Machiavellian ruler. Macbeth does hold some Machiavellian qualities like maintaining the fear of his army, restraining himself from possessing the women that belong to others, and not being opposed to using force in order to obtain that which he desires. Despite possessing these Machiavellian qualities, Macbeth is not a true Machiavellian leader. According to Machiavelli, a prince should avoid being hated by all, which Macbeth doesnââ¬â¢t do so well. We will write a custom essay sample on Is Macbeth a Machiavellian leader? or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Machiavelli says a prince should avoid being cruel, rapacious, a violator of the property and women of oneââ¬â¢s subjects, because ââ¬Å"â⬠¦you will find [the] cruel and rapaciousââ¬â men whoâ⬠¦ did not hesitate to commit every kind of iniquity against the people; and allâ⬠¦ came to a bad endâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (19. 20). With the death of Duncan, the other characters in the play become suspicious of Macbeth ââ¬â maybe he isnââ¬â¢t the type of ruler they wanted after all. The other characters lose all trust and respect for Macbeth. The death of Macduffââ¬â¢s family ultimately causes everyone around Macbeth to hate him. Macbethââ¬â¢s abrupt and ruthless decision to ââ¬Å"give to thââ¬â¢edge oââ¬â¢thââ¬â¢sword to [Macduffââ¬â¢s] wife, [Macduffââ¬â¢s] babes, and all the unfortunate souls that trace [Macduff] in his lineâ⬠shows how unhesitant he is to rid of any and all obstacles in his path to the throne (4. 1. 151-153). This is when Macduff finally decides that Macbeth must be overthrown and Macduff himself will not rest until he ââ¬Å"[treaded] upon the tyrantââ¬â¢s [Macbeth] headâ⬠(4. 3. 45). In addition to not being hated, Machiavelli indicates that a ruler should also keep oneââ¬â¢s people satisfied and content. The people of Scotland look up to Macbeth. In act 4 scene 3, Malcolm is telling Macduff about the hardship that Macbeth is bringing to Scotland saying ââ¬Å"I think our country sinks beneath the yoke it weeps, it bleeds, and each new day a gash is added to her woundsâ⬠(4. 3. 40-42). The people of Scotland trusts Macbeth to run their country well, but in the end he runs it into the ground, forcing them into poverty and misfortune. By murdering Duncan, Banquo and Macduffââ¬â¢s family Macbeth causes a lot of misery in the lives of the deceasedââ¬â¢s families. Macbeth never keeps his people satisfied, but rather he does things to make them extremely displeased. According to standards set forth by The Prince, Macbeth did many things wrong as a ruler, but above all, he let others influence his decisions and he messed with what wasnââ¬â¢t his. A prince should never ââ¬Å"â⬠¦ be too ready of beliefâ⬠or have ââ¬Å"too great confidence in others [throwing] him off his guard, nor groundless dis trust [rendering] him insupportableâ⬠(17. 3). Time and time again, Macbeth puts all his trust into the witchââ¬â¢s prophecies. He lets the prophecies control all his actions and decisions from that point on, which leads to his downfall. Not only does Macbeth let the prophecies control his every action, but he also lets his wife, Lady Macbeth, make all his decisions for him. She drives him to kill Duncan to achieve the thrown. When he questions her direction she outraged, calls him a coward and questions his manhood: ââ¬Å"When you durst do it,â⬠she says, ââ¬Å"then you were a manâ⬠(1. 7. 49). She makes him the power hungry tyrant he ultimately becomes. In The Prince, Machiavelli states that ââ¬Å"A wise Prince should build on what is his own, and not depend on what rests with otherâ⬠(17. 9). Macbeth takes the heir to the throne which should not have been his. He also achieves the throne by treacherous means. He even contemplates whether he should kill him or not saying that ââ¬Å"Duncan hath borne his faculties so meek, hath been so clear in his great office that his virtues will plead like angelsâ⬠(1. 7. 16-19). He knows what he is doing is wrong, but if he doesnââ¬â¢t kill Duncan, he otherwise wonââ¬â¢t be heir to the throne. Macbeth depends on the witchesââ¬â¢ prophecies to build his future. He never makes his own plan; he uses the prophecies as his plan. Macbeth lets too many outside characters affect his decisions, feelings and actions; something a true Machiavellian leader would never do. To a true and successful ruler, war is the number one priority. ââ¬Å"A PRINCE ought to have no other aim or thought, nor select anything else for his study, than war and its rules and disciplineâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (14. 1). Macbeth is too preoccupied with the fulfillment of the witchââ¬â¢s prophecies to worry about anything else. In act four scene one, the three witches see three apparitions and earn Macbeth not to ask about them. Despite the witchesââ¬â¢ warnings, Macbeth demands answers saying I conjure you, by that which you profess, howeer you come to know it, answer me (4. 1. 50-51). What they profess are the arts of black magic, but Macbeth cares about nothing except himself. He wants answers, even if it means that winds knock down churches, waves swallow ships, crops are lost, or though the treasure of natures germains tumble all together, even till destruction sicken (4. 1. 58-60). The numerous murders Macbeth commits occupies a lot \ of his time, leaving him no time to prepare for anything else, especially war. ââ¬Å"A wise prince ought to observe some such rules, so that if fortune changes it may find him prepared to resist her blows. â⬠(14. 6). After the death of Duncan, Malcolm and Macduff begin planning their attack on Macbeth, while Macbeth worries about obtaining more power. When the woods ââ¬Å"moveâ⬠Macbeth loses it. He tells the messenger that ââ¬Å"If thou [the messenger] speakst false, upon the next tree shalt thou hang aliveâ⬠(5. 5. 38-39). He realizes in that moment, that he will be defeated. He has no army to fight with, and no plan. Because he is unprepared, he loses his life to Macduff. Macbeth never once worries about or prepares for war, instead he spent his time fixating on other things, which leads to his defeat. Outstanding rulers take on great conquests and inspire others by their noble actions. ââ¬Å"[Rulers] should strive by all [their] actions to inspire a sense of his greatness and goodness. â⬠(21. 3). Macbeth thinks he will be a great ruler of the throne, and he will have great affairs, but he does nothing of greatness or goodness. He forces the people of Scotland into hardship and calamity, and he tells the murders to ââ¬Å"Know Banquo was [their] enemyâ⬠(3. 1. 125). He does nothing for them that a good ruler should. In The Prince, Machiavelli says that a good ruler should show that he loves talent and rewards it, encourage his citizens to prosper in their occupations, keep the people entertained with festivals when appropriate, and he should give attention to the various civic groups without appearing undignified; none of which Macbeth did. Machiavelli also says that ââ¬Å"Nothing makes a prince so well thought of as to undertake great enterprises and give striking proofs of his capacityâ⬠(21. Macbeth never proves himself to his people. He never does anything extraordinary. Machiavelli gives the Spain of Ferdinand as an example; he did various things to distract his people from overthrowing him such as; attacking Granada, driving the Moors out of Spain, and attacking Africa, Italy, and France. Macbeth never does anything to keep his people from overthrowing him, he is too infatuated with gaining power to worry about anything else. Macbeth does nothing of great statute during his reign, nothing anyone could remember him by, besides his cruelty and selfishness One of the most important ideas that Machiavelli says is that ââ¬Å"A prince is likewise esteemed who is a stanch friend and a thorough foe, that is to say, who without reserve openly declares for one against another, this being always more advantageous course than to stand neutral. â⬠(21. 4). A prince should always be ready to take a sideââ¬âMacbeth flip flops to whichever side benefits him at that moment. Macbeth puts up a false exterior towards Duncan telling him that â⬠The service and the loyalty he [Macbeth] owe, in doing it pays itselfâ⬠meaning that Macbeth finds great joy and happiness in serving Kind Duncan and keeping him safe, which isnââ¬â¢t true what so ever. (1. 4. 22-23). He only says this so he can lure Duncan into trusting him, so he can murder Duncan. Macbeth always acts like Banquoââ¬â¢s friend. He and Banquo build a relationship full of trust. The two always take each otherââ¬â¢s side, but then Macbeth betrays Banquo by murdering him, because at the moment that is what benefited him. Not only did Macbeth fail to choose sides, but he also goes against people much more powerful than himself. The witches warn Macbeth to fear Macduff, but Macbeth disregards their warnings ââ¬â a decision he would come to regret. By killing Macduffââ¬â¢s family, Macbeth starts a war between Macduff and himself ââ¬â a war he wasnââ¬â¢t ready to fight. Macduff is much more powerful and prepared than Macbeth. Macbeth hardly takes a side, but when he does he never sticks to it. He goes against the one person everyone told him to fear. He does everything Machiavelli says not to in this particular situation. While Macbeth exhibits certain Machiavellian characteristics, he does not wholly correspond to the standards set forth by The Prince. In agreement with Machiavellian values, Macbeth maintains the fear of his army, restrains himself from possessing the women that belong to others, and is not opposed to using force in order to obtain that which he desires. In opposition, he lets outside forces influence him, he does not build upon what is his, and he does not avoid being hated by his people, nor did he keep them satisfied. In addition, he neglects war, does nothing of noble regard, and does not pick a side when necessary. Although Macbeth demonstrates several Machiavellian characteristics, he does not bear all the qualities of a respectable ruler, therefore Macbeth is not a truly Machiavellian character, or leader.

Statistics For Managers Example
Statistics For Managers Example Statistics For Managers ââ¬â Coursework Example Statistics for Managers Regression Analysis Regression Analysis is a procedure that uses statistics to estimate the connection between different variables. The dependent variables rely on other factors to make estimations while independent variables are rigid and normally operate on their own (Montgomery, 2011). For instance, a manager can suggest that sales of a product depend on the promotional strategies used or the prices charged. This implies that sales are dependent variables because they depend on price and product promotion while price and promotion are the independent variables (Montgomery, 2011). In this regard, if a regression model uses one independent variable, then it is a simple model. In situations where two or extra independent variables are applied, then the model is a multiple. Regression analysis requires close scrutiny of the variables to know the ones that influence each other directly or indirectly. The benefit of performing a regression analysis in the business context is that it helps in decision making. For instance, management can adopt a strategy that contributes to higher sales and returns by considering the variables used (Montgomery, 2011). Another benefit is that it helps in speculative purposes where a company can use the present results to predict future results. This applies if a company studies changes in consumer spending to determine the future production of goods and pricing (Montgomery, 2011). The other benefit of regression analysis to businesses is that it assists in the detection and correction of mistakes. Sometimes, managers make predictions or decisions using wrong figures, but the results do not reflect the correct information. ReferenceMontgomery, D. C. (2011). Elizabeth Garrett Anderson
Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Dates: June 9, 1836 - December 17, 1917 Occupation: Physician Known for: first woman to successfully complete the medical qualifying exams in Great Britain; first woman physician in Great Britain; advocate of womens suffrage and womens opportunities in higher education; first woman in England elected as mayor Also known as: Elizabeth Garrett Connections: Sister of Millicent Garrett Fawcett, British suffragist known for her constitutional approach as contrasted to the radicalism of the Pankhursts; also a friend of Emily Davies About Elizabeth Garrett Anderson: Elizabeth Garrett Anderson was one of ten children. Her father was both a comfortable businessman and a political radical. In 1859, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson heard a lecture by Elizabeth Blackwell on Medicine as a Profession for Ladies. After she overcame her fathers opposition and gaining his support, she entered medical training as a surgical nurse. She was the only woman in the class, and was banned from full participation in the operating room. When she came out first in the exams, her fellow students had her banned from lectures. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson then applied to, but was rejected by, many medical schools. She finally was admitted this time, for private study for an apothecary license. She had to fight a few more battles to be allowed to actually take the exam and get a license. The reaction of the Society of Apothecaries was to amend their regulations so no more women could be licensed. Now licensed, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson opened a dispensary in London for women and children in 1866. In 1872 it became the New Hospital for Women and Children, the only teaching hospital in Britain to offer courses for women. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson learned French so that she could apply for a medical degree from the faculty of the Sorbonne, Paris. She was granted that degree in 1870. She became the first woman in Britain to be appointed to a medical post in that same year. Also in 1870, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and her friend Emily Davies both stood for election to the London School Board, an office newly opened to women. Andersons was the highest vote among all the candidates. She married in 1871. James Skelton Anderson was a merchant, and they had two children. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson weighed in on a medical controversy in the 1870s. She opposed those who argued that higher education resulted in overwork and thus reduced womens reproductive capacity, and that menstruation made women to weak for higher education. Instead, Anderson argued that exercise was good for womens bodies and minds. In 1873, the British Medical Association admitted Anderson, where she was the only woman member for 19 years. In 1874, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson became a lecturer at the London School for Medicine for Women, which was founded by Sophia Jex-Blake. Anderson stayed on as dean of the school from 1883 to 1903. In about 1893, Anderson contributed to the founding of the Johns Hopkins Medical School, with several others including M. Carey Thomas. The women contributed the funds for the medical school on the condition that the school admit women. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson was also active in the womens suffrage movement. In 1866, Anderson and Davies presented petitions signed by more than 1,500 asking that women heads of household be given the vote. She was not as active as her sister, Millicent Garrett Fawcett, though Anderson became a member of the Central Committee of the National Society for Womens Suffrage in 1889. After her husbands death in 1907, she became more active. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson was elected mayor of Aldeburgh in 1908. She gave speeches for suffrage, before the increasing militant activity in the movement led to her withdrawal. Her daughter Louisa also a physician was more active and more militant, spending time in prison in 1912 for her suffrage activities. The New Hospital was renamed the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital in 1918 after her death in 1917. It is now part of the University of London.

Internet Marketing a Practical Approach Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 54
Internet Marketing a Practical Approach - Essay Example Quality fraud and scams are a common occurrence when products are purchased online. This is not only the supplierââ¬â¢s fault but is also the fault of the buyer because of the lack of enough product specification details. Small business owners in most cases seek the products with the lowest price in order to gain profit once they sell them. In their bid to find the lowest price, they compromise the quality of these products and do not bother with providing all the necessary details that would facilitate quality. On the other hand, the suppliers take advantage of the fact that the business is online and the slacking nature of the buyer and hence suppliers materials of low quality. Quality issues matter because there are laws against low quality or illegal products being imported in different nations and especially in the US and Europe. Business owners found with quality compromised products are bound to be jailed or heavily fined. If a small business owner id heavily fined, the small business is likely to go into receivership. To avoid all these complications, small business owners should be mindful of the quality of the supplier and the products before purchasing and shipping them. Enough research about the online supplier as well as making all the necessary specifications of the products should be counterchecked before a final order is sent. As mentioned above, the quality fraud problem for small businesses may the fault of the supplier or importer. The consensus, in this case, is for each of the parties to carry out their part according to the instructions provided. The importer to clearly and exhaustively specify the products and the supplier to ensure they deliver the products as specified and adhere to the quality standards. This will ensure a mutually beneficial relationship for not only the present transaction but future ones as well.Ã

Integration of Financial Markets over past 25 years - Essay Example The world has become a smaller place and globalization has contributed towards the growth of international credit as a result of an international integration of the goods and services market and the growing presence of multinational companies. The GNP has seen more than twice growth in the share of imports and exports for most nations which in turn brought about a large increase in international lending and borrowings for the purpose of addressing the needs of current account transactions (Bekeart, Harvey, and Lumsdaine, 2002). Open financial markets have been regarded as an opportunity for expansion of investorââ¬â¢s portfolio diversification scope and therefore has a higher potential for greater risk-adjusted return. For the country, smooth consumption is allowed and saves them from potential shocks. Financial flows also result in the flow of capital with potential welfare gains and growth and international risk sharing. The costs of financial integration might also be as drastic as its benefits. Countries run the risk of reversal of capital flows and the risk of increased volatility through a largely open capital market. The recent financial crisis has been an example of the drawbacks of financial integration worldwide where the financial meltdown in one country has impacted the complete global economy. Although there was some misalignment of fundamentals, the financial crisis has brought focus to the instability inherent within the financial markets as a result of the financial integration process. This calls for a stronger regulatory supervision and more stubborn financial systems (Agà ©nor, 2001). The paper is organized beginning with a discussion on the operational significance of international financial markets and moves on to evaluate determinants of foreign exchange markets for the long run and the short run. The paper also analyses the international stock exchange and its role and reflection on the financial integration.

Retributivism contends that when an individual commits a crime, his punishment should be the equivalent of the crime committed. Kant argued that humans are free and rational agents who recognise that any wrong committed would have to be met with a deserving and equal punishment by the state. He believed that a states failure to punish this wrong would be a corroboration of sorts in the wrongdoing. Furthermore, he held that punishment must only be inflicted upon those who have committed a crime and not for any other purpose. In keeping with this theory of moral reasoning, ââ¬Ëjust desertsââ¬â¢ is a modern form of retributivism, more concerned with seeking proportionality rather than exacting revenge. Supporters of t his version argue that offenders should be punished, but only because they deserve it. An interpretation centred more on the ce...
